Rosanna Parnell Biography

Last updated 20 Mar 2023

A relatively recent Southampton signing having only joined the club in 2019, Rosie Parnell provides an experienced head at the heart of the defence.

Starting out with Townhill at Under-10s level where she played on Sundays, Parnell also represented the Southampton's Centre of Excellence between the ages of 9 and 12 on Saturdays; typifying the role football played in her life growing up.

At Under-14s she joined Reading's Centre of Excellence, before signing for Oxford United Women for four years from the age of 19.

Her 2017-18 and 2018-19 seasons were spent at London Bees before she resigned for Saints ahead of the 2019-20 season, playing a key part in Saints' promotion winning 2021-22 season.

Naming John Terry as her footballing idol, Parnell lists the side's St Mary's debut in the 2019-20 FA Cup run as her favourite memory at the club so far, describing it as "a good advert for the women's game."
