The fifth edition of the ePremier League Grand Finals are taking place this weekend, with Southampton duo Michael Fisher and Tyreece Rowe competing to claim the club's first ePL title.

Fisher is returning for his second season representing the club, after narrowly missing out on qualification from the group stages last year, and will be taking on the PlayStation side of the tournament.

Meanwhile, taking the Xbox mantle, it’s a first Grand Finals appearance for Tyreece “RoweEdition” Rowe who is also representing Saints for the first time.

As was the case last season, the players are competing for a prize pool of £100,000 with the four competitors from the top two clubs also earning spots in the EA SPORTS FIFA 23 Global Series Playoffs and Play-Ins - one additional place than last time out.

The tournament will once again be hosted at Here East in London’s Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, with group stage action taking place on Saturday 25th March before the knockout rounds conclude on Sunday 26th March.

As in last season’s edition, players will be working collaboratively as a team by playing one vs one matches against pairings from other clubs, with one player competing per console and the scores combining for a result from a two-legged tie.

Clubs are split into four groups for Saturday’s matches, with the top two in each group progressing into Sunday’s knockout stages. The two victorious players in the overall final will be crowned as ePremier League champions for their club.

Saints have been placed into Group A, with Michael and Tyreece facing Arsenal, Aston Villa, Brighton, and Crystal Palace; fans can watch the action live on the club’s official YouTube channel.

With the prospect of lining up for his Grand Finals debut, Saints’ Xbox representative said:

“I’ve been trying to qualify for Southampton for three years. I’m so glad to finally be representing the club and make this tournament.

“I believe that we can really do well, I think we’re one of the teams that may be undervalued compared to others but secretly I think we can do well and push into the later stages of the tournament”
