Saints Foundation’s popular health and wellbeing programme, Saints Goal, continues to thrive with the support of Southampton FC’s Official Wellness Partner, Vitality.
Saints Foundation’s health and wellness programme, Saints Goal, made its return in mid-January thanks to support from Southampton FC’s Official Wellness Partner, Vitality. The programme delivers weekly sessions designed to help members of our local community improve their health and wellbeing.
Nine weeks into the programme, it’s proving to once again be a success, with participants taking part in education and physical activity sessions at St Mary’s Stadium.
Education sessions have covered food labelling, mental health and goal development. Meanwhile, the activity sessions have consisted of a broad range of activities including circuit training, Pilates and football.
Saints Goal participant, Mike, told us: “I wanted to lose weight and feel better about myself, then I saw the Saints Foundation advert at the stadium and applied.
“The course has surpassed all of my expectations with the support and knowledge of the Foundation team and the backing of Vitality.
“I am well on the way to achieving my goal, while making new friends along the way. I am proud and feel privileged to be part of their journey too.”
Saints Goal participant, Tara, told us: “Having been on Saints Goal now for 9 weeks I can honestly say it has been brilliant.
“The educational parts of sessions are great and informative; staff are really engaging and knowledgeable. The activity side has been fantastic with something different every week which has given us a flavour of activities to take forward.
“It has been great being with the other participants, it really feels like we are a little team. In terms of impacts I have really felt the benefits of what I have learnt and don’t feel as sluggish as I did, have more energy, and feel more vitalised.”
Vitality has provided a rewards scheme throughout the programme designed to encourage the development of healthier habits. By rewarding participants, Vitality hope to empower them to continue making positive lifestyle changes.
Saints Goal has returned for a special cohort in 2023 – the programme aims to change lifestyle habits by supporting changes toward nutrition and exercise.
