Saints partner with popular Voi scooters

By SFC Media time Tue 17 Jan The Halo Effect

We’ve partnered with Voi scooters to offer you a greener alternative to get to gamedays at St Mary’s Stadium and throughout the season, Saints fans can expect some unique benefits.

It’s part of our push through the club’s sustainability strategy, The Halo Effect, to team up with businesses who share our mission of creating a more sustainable future for the people in our city.

You’ll likely have seen Voi’s popular e-scooters around Southampton already – they offer an exciting, sustainable, and convenient travel option for Saints fans heading to St Mary’s, with a virtual parking bay outside the stadium where scooters can be parked on arrival.

We’re also offering space at St Mary’s so Voi can give coaching to Southampton residents on scooter travel safety.

Southampton Football Clubs Operations and Sustainability Manager, Caroline Carlin, added: “Partnering with Voi e-scooters forms an important part of the club’s overall sustainability strategy ‘The Halo Effect’. Along with making travel more sustainable we are making every effort to reduce the environmental impacts of our operations and activities. We are proud to be one of the most sustainable clubs in the Premier League and this partnership will continue to promote the club’s commitment to making footballer greener.”

The partnership is part of Southampton FC’s commitment to enriching the lives of fans and the local community through innovating, environmentally friendly ways that fans can travel to home games, reducing the number of cars making the journey to watch their team play.

Jack Samler, Managing Director at Voi UK and Ireland, said: “As the UK's largest rental e-scooter company, we’re delighted to be partnering with Southampton Football Club to offer fans a cleaner, greener way to travel to the game.

“As fans travelling to games represents 70% of football’s overall carbon footprint, our partnership will help the club achieve its climate change targets by offering them a zero-emissions alternative to unnecessary, polluting car journeys - as well as tackling congestion in the city.

“Southampton FC has already made great strides in becoming one of the most sustainable football clubs in England, but in working together we can help them, and the local community face their toughest opponent: the climate emergency.”
