Gavin Bazunu has claimed the Premier League Save of the Month award for his stop against Liverpool in November.

With this month’s accolade taking into account performances either side of the World Cup, the Saints stopper has been rewarded for denying Mohamed Salah in stunning fashion.

The Republic of Ireland international sprung across goal to deny Salah at point-blank range, following Darwin Núñez’s low cross from the left.

Bazunu fought off competition from Łukasz Fabiański (West Ham), Alisson Becker (Liverpool), David De Gea (Man United), Marc Travers (Bournemouth) and José Sá (Wolves) to win the award.

The goalkeeper award is new for this season and recognises the efforts of those stopping goals rather than scoring or assisting them.
