Southampton Football Club has donated £10,000 worth of toys to the City Council’s annual toy appeal. This is the third year in a row the club has donated toys as part of its commitment to supporting the local community through the Saints As One initiative.
The donation of presents were bought at a local toy shop in Hythe where possible or through the charity HIS Church.
Southampton City Council’s popular annual appeal see peoples donate thousands of toys that are then gifted to young people up to 18 years old who are supported by the Council’s children’s services, making sure they have a special present to open on Christmas Day.
This year, with more families struggling amidst the cost-of-living crisis, the toy appeal will be extending its support to children and families supported by other council services.
Members of the public can still give to the appeal, if they can, by dropping off donations of new toys at the customer services desk at Westquay until Sunday 18th December.
This year there's also an increased need for presents for older children aged 12-18 so a wish list has been created, which the club has supplied presents from as well. For any fans who want to contribute, please see the list below:
