Leaving Leeds with a share of the spoils, manager Ralph Hasenhüttl was pleased with his side’s performance in Yorkshire to add another Premier League point to the board.

The visitors trailed at the break to Jack Harrison’s opener, but levelled in sensational style after the restart courtesy of the latest James Ward-Prowse free-kick.

In a tightly contested affair, both sides had chances to snatch a winner but after a run of three straight defeats, Saints’ boss was satisfied to end the recent disappointing run.

Always a goal chance. We know it and hope that he helps us with his free-kicks.

“It’s still easy sometimes how we give chances away in crucial moments, but in the end I think we had the better ones and I think in such an atmosphere, to take a point after we lost the last three is good for us and I’m happy with the game today.

“It was an intense way of playing football, we knew this. It doesn’t look always good because it’s very hectic but it’s tough to play here with the atmosphere and with the pressing, so we tried to make a point of not playing in our own half, only playing in their half.

“Then it sometimes ends up in Ping-Pong but that is okay, not always nice to watch but in the end I think we had the bigger chances today and could definitely have won this game.

“We will take a point but int the end when you’re one down after 30 minutes, it’s not so easy to come back here. The atmosphere was good and we were resistant and this is good.”
