Southampton Football Club proudly honoured the late Ron Davies with its latest Forever Saint award.

The legendary striker, who scored an astonishing 153 goals in only 281 appearances for the club, was recognised for his contribution during half-time of the Premier League match against Norwich City, at St Mary's.

Club historian Duncan Holley collected the award in his honour.

Davies, who played at Saints from 1966 to 1973, was one of the most prolific forwards in the English leagues during much of that time, and perhaps his most famous moment was when he scored all four goals in a 4-1 win away at Manchester United in August 1969.

To this day, the Welsh international remains one of the finest forwards ever to have played for the club.

Davies passed away in May 2013, while living in Albuquerque, New Mexico, but his memory lives on at the club and he now joins the list of recipients of the Forever Saint award, which celebrates incredible contributions made both at Saints and in the community by ex-players, club servants and community champions.
