Southampton Football Club has teamed up with Official Kit Supplier hummel to announce the release of a Saints Foundation limited edition shirt, which will raise awareness and vital funds for club charity as it celebrates its 20th anniversary.
The exclusive shirt is a white variation on the design of Saints’ popular third shirt and will be debuted by first team players when Southampton face Coventry City in the Emirates FA Cup on Saturday 5th February, kick-off at 3pm. Saints Women will also sport the limited edition shirt against Hashtag United in their Women’s National League Cup fixture on Sunday 6th February, kick-off at 2pm.
There will be 500 of the limited edition shirts available for fans to purchase at the St Mary’s Stadium Store and online from 10am on Friday 4th February. Shirts will come in an individually numbered presentation box and retail at £99 each.
All profits from sales will be donated to Saints Foundation, the charity of Southampton Football Club, which is celebrating 20 years of life-changing work in the 2021/22 season. The Foundation runs community projects which support thousands of people in the local community every year, helping people aged 5 to 96 years old.
Saints Foundation will also benefit from an online auction of the match-worn shirts from both the first team and Women’s team, which will go live during the week commencing 14th February.
Mark Underwood, CEO, hummel UK, said: “It’s a privilege to be able to support and celebrate the hard work and life changing projects delivered by Saints Foundation over the last 20 years. We look forward to continuing our support of this amazing organisation and the vital work they do for the local community.”
Greg Baker, Head of Saints Foundation and Community Partnerships, said: “We’re incredibly grateful to hummel for providing this fantastic opportunity to raise the profile of our work during what is such a difficult time for all charities.
“The support offered to us by hummel since they partnered with the club last year has been outstanding. This is another prime example of their vision to change the world through sport in action, and we’re proud to work with them to improve lives in our city.”
Southampton Football Club’s Director of Marketing & Partnerships, Sarah Batters, said: “It’s very important to us that the club’s partnerships are built on a foundation of shared values and hummel’s brand mission to change the world through sport has already unlocked a number of campaigns that have made a positive impact in our local community.
“We’re delighted to be able to team up with hummel to highlight the amazing work Saints Foundation do while raising money to support their wide range of community projects which provide a valuable lifeline to people across our city and the surrounding area.”
