Saints secured their place in the Hampshire FA Senior Cup final on Sunday, claiming a 3-0 victory over Bournemouth at Snows Stadium.

Katie Rood and Georgie Freeland both found themselves on the scoresheet for Saints who now face bitter rivals Portsmouth in the final of the competition, looking to enact revenge after last season’s final defeat.

LAST MEETING

An Ella Pusey brace saw Saints emerge 2-0 victors in the reverse fixture back in August.

Victory at Chichester ensured Saints made it three victories in their opening three games of the campaign.

MANAGER’S THOUGHTS

“Anything can happen on the day,” admitted technical coach Lauren Phillips. “We’ve got to be as prepared as we can be. We’ve got to take it one game at a time.

“We’ve seen with results that we’ve been involved in with other teams that anything can happen. The most important thing is that we do what we can do.

“Play, based on what they give us and if we do that and play smart we’ll be in the best position come the end of the game and that’s what we want.”
