After sealing FA Cup progression on Sunday, Saints will play for the first time in the league for 45 days on Wednesday night with the visit of Crawley Wasps.

The last league outing for Marieanne Spacey-Cale’s side came at the start of October, where Keynsham Town were on the wrong end of 9-0 victory in Saints’ favour at Snows Stadium.

After also sealing cup progression at the weekend with a 3-2 victory over London Bees, Crawley will be looking to continue their respectable start to the Southern Premier season.

Wednesday’s visitors have won six and lost four of their opening ten games so far, losing out 3-1 to Keynsham last-time-out at the end of October.

MANAGER’S NOTES

“We have to take responsibility on the pitch,” said Spacey-Cale. “Drive the energy, drive the intensity of the play.

“The reason the girls work so hard in training is for these types of weeks. I don’t question their energy, their training mentality.

“We just have to approach the games with a stronger desire to go out and get three points which are so important on Wednesday.

“We had a good crowd here against Swindon. It would be great to get another good crowd on Wednesday and get the crowd with us.

“It’s one of those things where the energy might not be on the pitch but it can be created if the fans bring their voices. It would be great if that could happen on Wednesday.”
