Southampton Football Club today launched its new campaign, No place for homophobia in Southampton, and is asking its fans to take part by pledging their support.

Together with its Official Kit Supplier, hummel, Saints are commissioning a mural in the city to champion its support of LGBTQ+ individuals.

The mural will provide an exciting creative expression of LGBTQ+ inclusivity, featuring a strong statement of support for the city’s LGBTQ+ population.

Supporters can get involved by signing up to stand alongside the club using the form below – fans that sign up may be selected to have their name feature in the mural* alongside their fellow LGBTQ+ champions, including first team players.

Earlier this season, Saints collaborated with hummel on a specially designed warm-up shirt worn ahead of the match against Everton – the shirts have been auctioned off with proceeds going towards Saints Foundation providing LGBTQ+ awareness classes in local schools.

Fans can look forward to a new range of t-shirts due to be released in the coming weeks with profits also helping to fund Saints Foundation’s LGBTQ+ outreach programme in schools.

Southampton’s Director of Marketing and Partnerships, Sarah Batters, said: “We’re proud to be standing alongside our fans and hummel by making a powerful statement in the city to show our support for LGBTQ+ supporters.

“We want to make sure that football is an inclusive environment for all supporters and we look forward to our fans getting behind this campaign by contributing their support for the mural.”

Hummel’s CEO, Allan Vad Nielsen, said: “We are extremely proud to work with a club that shares the same values as us. We have received fantastic feedback on our Copenhagen 21 campaign and we look forward - together with the club - to continuing the development in this area.”

You can find out more about the campaign, including what you can do to help tackle discrimination against LGBTQ+ people in football, by visiting the No place for homophobia in Southampton home page.

As part of the club’s sustainability strategy, The Halo Effect, Southampton Football Club is committed to treating all of its fans fairly and equally. Find out more about how the club is committed to giving its fans a voice here.
