Southampton manager Ralph Hasenhüttl has welcomed the social media boycott that English football has joined together to take part in.
Clubs, leagues and other organisations will be stopping their use of platforms from 3pm on Friday until 11.59pm on Monday, as they urge the companies to do more to tackle abuse and discrimination on the channels.
"I am absolutely pleased about it," said Hasenhüttl. "It's really time to do something, because everybody knows it cannot go on like this in the future, it cannot be the solution that we can say whatever we want, that we can post whatever we want without consequences, so, as I said, it's time to change the rules and then we all maybe can use it more often.
"I don't really like it to be honest, everybody knows this, because of the fact it is not always good for our society and I think this is something we have to change."
Hasenhüttl added: "It is absolutely urgent to see the danger on these social media platforms and it is a very good decision by the Premier League to send a statement, a signal, that we have to change something.
"In the end, we must set some boundaries to find it more worthwhile to look at it."
