Southampton manager Ralph Hasenhüttl has confirmed Nathan Redmond is back in training and available for Sunday’s Premier League clash with West Brom at St Mary’s.
The winger has not featured since hobbling out of the Carabao Cup tie against Brentford a fortnight ago with an ankle problem.
The boss did not confirm whether Redmond would start against the Baggies, but he does have a fully-fit squad to choose from.
“Nathan is back in training and he’s an option for the weekend, either from the beginning or on the bench,” Hasenhüttl said. “It looks good – his ankle doesn’t cause him any problems anymore.
“The rest are okay, absolutely. We’ve had some good sessions this week. We’ve had a long week, playing last Saturday and then not until Sunday, so we’ve had some good time to work and the guys are fit.
“I have one more session tomorrow and after this session I normally decide who starts.”
Hasenhüttl also offered an update on the progress being made by summer signing Mohammed Salisu, who is still yet to make his Saints debut.
“He’s more and more part of our first-team training, but it takes time,” he added. “He is coming back, but we’ll give him all the time he needs.”
