Manager Ralph Hasenhüttl spoke to the media ahead of Sunday's Premier League fixture against West Brom. Read back the best bits of what he had to say...
On Burnley win
“I think that we knew that if we defended better we could take something from there. It’s a difficult ground to go to and always a tough game there but we were very aggressive and organised from the first moment.
“I must say a very energetic performance and in the end it was a good win for us.”
On Transfers
“First we must wait until everything is finished. I have seen deals spoken about and then it didn’t happen so let us wait until the player is here and we can then speak about how important it is.
“We know we have to bring players in, we know we lost a few players and hopefully this will happen.”

On West Brom
“To be honest I am surprised that there have been so many goals (in their games). I know they have a good counter attack, transition and a well organised defence.
“I think against Chelsea they struggled a little bit but they are a good side who create many chances and in the end they lost two points. However I think it was a good performance and against Everton, the result could have been a different one. They had a chance to go 2-0 up but it hit the post and the game would have gone a different direction.
“I don’t see them as open to be honest. They have a good transition so if you make a mistake they take it immediately so we have to take care of that.
“It’s not possible to give away the ball so easily against this opponent. It was much better against Burnley and this is the way of getting a clean sheet.
“If you know our team and us as staff you know we take every opponent seriously. With our home record, we were definitely not the best so we have to show up now. We had some good games at the end of last season against Man City and Sheffield United.
“We must be good in possession, be clinical, concentrate when playing against the ball and not give the ball away.”
On Team News
"Nathan (Redmond) is back in training but he’s not sure for the weekend in terms of playing from the beginning or the bench but it looks good. His ankle isn’t causing him problems and we must have a look.
“The rest of the squad is okay, we had some good sessions, it’s been a long week but it’s been good time to work and the guys are all fit.”
On Importance of first home win
“In both home games we conceded two easy goals and this is something we must stop as quick as possible. I think last week we made the first step to being more organised and we need to work on this part of our game.
“If you don’t have time to work on it, it will be hard to develop your game and you know about our pre-season with players being gone. When three out of your four centre backs are gone it’s difficult to work on your defence.
“This is the reason why we took two weeks to adapt our game to what was needed to take wins and hopefully we can show at the weekend we can go one step further."
On the International break
“We had an experience at the start of the season with an injured player coming back from duty, Stuart Armstrong.
“It was not nice for us especially in the pre-season. We took care of everybody and then they come back injured which was something that frustrated me.
“It’s easier (to prepare) against West Brom than for when we play against Chelsea or Everton (fixtures after the break) to be honest. We have the international break where a lot of players are gone again, I think six players from here, so its hard to work on anything in the next two weeks.
“So this week we took time to develop the players and train as much as possible and hopefully we get a good result at the weekend.”
On potential of taking six points from 12
“Every win we can take is good for us. I think we had the same start last season where we lost first two and then won against Brighton. Now we had a difficult win against Burnley and we hadn’t won against them so it gives us a lift.
“It’s only good if you make the step and it looks like an easier game but it’s not. Whoever thinks it is easy is wrong. We know how difficult it is and we must step up in certain parts of our game.
“We showed last weekend that we are better than the first two results showed, we changed a few things, we were better organised and with the ball we had good moments, six or seven players had fantastic games.
“We can create more chances but the complete package was much better I think."
On Jannick Vestergaard and Mohammed Salisu
"I am very happy for Jannick because he has definitely had some difficult times here. He’s not always been supported so it was good to show he can be play a fantastic game and I think he was the best player on the pitch last weekend and I was very happy with his performance.
“I knew the opponent (Burnley) would be suitable for him because they would put balls into the box and he can clear with his headers and it was the game for him. Hopefully he can step up on this and gain more confidence.
“With Salisu, he is more and more part of our first team training but it takes time for him to come back and we will give him that time."
