For all of us, the last three months have been difficult and different to our normal lives. That is the same for us at Saints Foundation. But, we haven’t let this stop us.

From delivering prescriptions to volunteering with FareShare, it has been a busy time for everyone at Saints Foundation. Here are just a few things we have been doing to support our community in this tough time as part of the club’s #SaintsAsOne campaign.

At the request of Southampton City Council and the city’s NHS Clinical Commissioning Group, we have been running a Prescription Delivery Service to aid those most vulnerable in our community.

So far, delivering more than 1,600 prescriptions from 40 different pharmacies with our volunteers heading right across the city to help those in need.

Our delivery staff, normally running projects that support people in our community, have been busy too. They have been collectively calling participants and checking on their wellbeing.

Between them, more than 3,500 calls have been made to our participants this month with more than 600 hours in contact with those who need us.

Participants have had access to our website, which has supplied them with videos to stay active as well as other resources to both educate and entertain. We have also seen more than 120 secondary school students complete a virtual Personal Development Programme to support their skills and work readiness, where they’ve gained a Prince’s Trust qualification.

Our older adults have had access to specialised videos built to replicate a session they would normally do with our Health team in centres across the city.

119 workbooks have also been delivered to keep those isolated active in this uncertain time.

We are staying connected; we are keeping in touch with our community.

The Foundation has worked collectively with Southampton FC as part of the #SaintsAsOne campaign.

Chefs at the stadium and at Staplewood have now cooked 13,000 meals for the most vulnerable in the city, which have been delivered through FareShare. An incredible effort over the past three months.

Not only that, but more than 9,000 units of food and drink were donated by the club and delivered by Saints Foundation to NHS staff at four sites in the city, including Royal South Hants Hospital.

Saints Foundation could not do this without the generosity of donors and the city of Southampton. And now, more than ever, we need that support to continue.
