As part of the club's recently launched #SaintsAsOne campaign, Saints Foundation and Southampton FC staff have teamed up to create a helpline aimed at supporting vulnerable people in our local communities through this period of isolation.
Over the course of just this week, more than 1,000 calls have been made to vulnerable fans and Foundation participants, to check in on their general health and well-being during these challenging circumstances.
Saints staff have been reaching out Season Ticket Holders aged over 70, who may not only be missing the matchday buzz, but also their regular interaction with friends and family.
In the community, Saints Foundation are contacting more than 500 older adults each week to best understand how we can support them, as well as provide advice and tips on how to stay active at home.
Just this week, Saints Foundation staff have clocked up a combined 37 hours worth of call time; sharing practical advice, directing towards online resources, and assisting people who feel isolated and alone.
Additionally, Saints Foundation now has a dedicated helpline, which can be utilised by Foundation participants and fans alike, should they need support or guidance during this difficult time.
This line has been set up to direct people towards the support they need, as well as refer to other agencies within the city who may be able to help with any specialist concerns.
Helpline number: 02380 727769, available Mon-Fri 8:30am-4:30pm
