Southampton loanee Fraser Forster played a starring role as Celtic enjoyed a successful week in both the Europa League and Scottish Premiership.
Travelling to Copenhagen on Thursday for the first leg of their Europa League last-32 tie, Forster produced a stunning penalty save with a little over 10 minutes remaining to secure a 1-1 draw.
The result means The Bhoys will take a narrow advantage into the reverse fixture thanks to Odsonne Edouard’s away goal.
Returning to league action on Sunday, Forster was in between the sticks once again, this time in a routine 3-1 win over Kilmarnock which extends their lead at the top of the table to 12 points.
Fellow Saints loanee Mohamed Elyounoussi, who continues his comeback from injury, came from the bench in both matches to play his part.
Elsewhere, there were also wins for two of Southampton’s youngsters who went out on loan in January.
Kayne Ramsay completed the full 90 minutes for Shrewsbury as David Edwards’s strike proved to be enough against Doncaster in League One, whilst Callum Slattery was introduced in the 68th minute of De Graafschap’s 2-1 win at FC Dordrecht in Eerste Divisie.
Also in Europe, Wesley Hoedt couldn’t help Royal Antwerp close the gap on third-placed Standard Liège as they lost 1-0 at Stade Maurice Dufrasne in the Belgian Pro League.
It was a similar story for Guido Carrillo and Leganés, with the La Liga strugglers losing 1-0 at Celta Vigo. Carrillo played the full 90 minutes in the week that saw strike partner Martin Braithwaite depart for Barcelona.
Completing a disappointing week for those in action overseas, Christoph Klarer suffered a 4-1 defeat with SKN St Pölten in the Austrian Bundesliga, to leave them 10th in the table.
In the EFL, Alfie Jones and Jake Hesketh came head-to-head as Gillingham faced off with Lincoln in League One.
Both youngsters started at Sincil Park, with a 0-0 draw doing little to help either side’s hopes of making the play-offs.
A division lower, Jack Rose was handed a start in goal for Walsall as they were forced to settle for a 2-2 with Port Vale, whilst fellow goalkeeper Kingsley Latham was between the sticks for Gosport’s 3-0 defeat at Chesham in the Southern League Premier Division.
