We are celebrating the generosity of Mayflower Theatre’s patrons after they raised more than £10,000 for our charitable causes in the city.
After donations were collected from their successful pantomime run of Peter Pan, featuring Darren Day, the funds were split between us and Great Ormond Street Hospital.
After seeing the continued great work undertaken by us in the local area, Mayflower Theatre decided to nominate us as their chosen charity for collections. Great Ormond Street Hospital is the national charity chosen by Qdos, the producers of Mayflower Theatre’s pantomime. Qdos, who produce 34 pantomimes across the UK, raise money in all of their venues.
Jazz Bhatti, our Fundraising & Partnerships Manager added: “We are delighted that Mayflower Theatre picked us as one of their charities during the pantomime season and we are incredibly grateful for the generous donations given by their patrons over the festive period.
“The funds will help us deliver our mission of transforming lives in and around Southampton – something I know the Mayflower Theatre are passionate about too – and we hope this is the start of something special for our community.”
Not only have the Mayflower helped provide with funds that will help to change lives in the city, they have also been named as a Friend of Saints Foundation – which will see them work alongside us over the course of the year.
