Southampton's Under-23s travel to Arsenal as they return to Premier League 2 action on Saturday.

Looking to make it three consecutive wins in all competitions, Saints will be hoping to carry such momentum into the league following defeat to Brighton at Staplewood last time out.

Southampton's youngsters were in Hampshire Senior Cup action on Tuesday night, where a mixture of up-and-coming under-18s and under-23 regulars saw off Royal Navy 3-0 at AFC Totton.

Goals from Sean Brennan, Micky Saunders and Callum Watts booked Saints’ place in the next round.

Arsenal will be particularly buoyant following their latest result; a 3-1 win at North London rivals Tottenham at the start of the month was ensured through goals from Robbie Burton, Trae Coyle and Nathan Tormey.

The Gunners sit third in Premier League 2, just four points off of joint leaders Chelsea and Derby County.

Victory on Saturday for the hosts will see them right back in the title race, but three points for Saints are equally as they continue to find their feet in the division.
