Get up to speed on all things Southampton with our Monday Briefing...

Valiant Saints suffer narrow defeat

Southampton ran reigning champions Manchester City close at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday, falling to a late 2-1 defeat in the Premier League.

Saints took an early lead through James Ward-Prowse and continually frustrated the hosts, who levelled the score with their first shot on target in the 70th minute courtesy of Sergio Agüero.

Looking like picking up a valuable point on the road, Kyle Walker struck four minutes from time to condemn Ralph Hasenhüttl’s side to defeat, despite a valiant performance in Manchester.

Everton tickets on general sale

Next up, Saints play host to Everton at St Mary’s in the Premier League on Saturday 9th November, 3pm GMT.

The Category A clash is now on sale to all supporters and are available here.
