Southampton will travel to face Championship side Preston North End for a pre-season friendly next month, the club can confirm.
Ralph Hasenhüttl’s men will visit Deepdale on Saturday 20th July, for a 3pm kick-off as they step up preparations for the 2019/20 Premier League campaign.
Saints last visited North End in November 2008, when goals from Alex Pearce, Andrew Surman and David McGoldrick secured a 3-2 victory.
The game adds to Southampton’s other friendly matches, with a fixture against SCR Altach at the end of the pre-season camp in Austria, on Sunday 14th July, a visit to Dutch giants Feyenoord, on Sunday 28th July, and the home meeting with FC Köln, on Saturday 3rd August, while a Southampton XI will also visit Macau to play Chinese Super League side Guangzhou R&F on Tuesday 23rd July.
