It's a final chance to qualify in the Premier League Cup for Radhi Jaïdi's youngsters this Friday evening, as they host Notts County in their concluding group stage tie at Staplewood.
The outcome is ultimately out of Saints' hands, with Newcastle and Leeds currently in pole position to progress, but Jaïdi's side aren't out of the running, and will be doing their utmost to find a route to the knockout phases.
Nothing short of a win is necessary, and off the back of a fine performance against Fulham in Premier League 2 last time out, Jaïdi feels his Under-23s are primed for battle - ahead of a crucial run of fixtures over the next fortnight.
"We've reacted excellently. Ultimately, the way the squad prepared the Fulham game was very impressive," he stated.
"How we approached the start especially, I think the boys are showing more maturity and ownership from week to week.
"The same determination applies in the Premier League Cup - we take every competition seriously.
"We still have a chance of qualifying - although it relies on other results. We need to do the business regardless, and make sure we come away with three points.
"The performance is just as important. I want to see a positive performance matched with a good result."
