Southampton manager Ralph Hasenhüttl has been shortlisted for the Premier League's manager of the month award for January.

Hasenhüttl led Saints to an unbeaten run during the month, as they drew at Chelsea, before beating Leicester away and Everton at home, and then rounding things off with a point against Crystal Palace at St Mary's.

The results helped improve the club's situation in the table, lifting them four points clear of the drop zone as it stands.

Hasenhüttl faces stiff competition for the first prize of 2019, with two other strong contenders making up the shortlist.

Burnley's Sean Dyche also oversaw an impressive upturn in fortunes for his side, with two wins and two draws during the month, earning him a nomination.

Manchester United's interim boss Ole Gunnar Solskjær is the other contender, having led his resurgent team to three wins and a draw.
