Ralph Hasenhüttl praised a collective effort after his side earned a 3-2 victory over Arsenal in the Premier League at St Mary’s.

After his first full week with the players on the training pitch, Hasenhüttl got off to the perfect start as two goals from Danny Ings and a late Charlie Austin header sealed all three points.

The high intensity style of play being implemented was clear and the Saints boss has urged his players to maintain their work rate as the focus switches to Huddersfield Town on Saturday.

“I don’t want to pick one guy out because everyone was very focused and committed to the team. We want that kind of play, to attack together and be hunting the ball down,” Hasenhüttl said.

“You could feel it from the first minute on and that starts from the front. Danny did this well and he invested so much that I think he deserved to score, which was fantastic for him to score two goals against Arsenal.

“It was intensive. It’s not easy to play against Arsenal. You put everything on the pitch that you have and you need a little luck also. We didn’t have all the ball possession, but I think we had more chances.

“I think it should show us that it is possible to work hard and that when we stay working in this kind of manner then maybe we will celebrate more wins like this.

“We have to keep on working, looking at videos, working in our mind every week and hopefully we will be a in a good position."
