FA Cup third-round date set

Southampton will travel to Derby County in the third round of the Emirates FA Cup on Saturday 5th January.

The date for Saints' opening match of this season's competition was confirmed today, with kick-off set for 3pm GMT.

It will be the club's second trip to Pride Park in the past few months, having visited during pre-season.

Derby, under the guidance of Frank Lampard, are currently seventh in the Championship, outside of the play-off spots only on goal difference.
