Danny Butterfield has said that his young team will be hard at work on Saturday afternoon, trying to correct the shortcomings from Wednesday's 1-0 loss to Arsenal.

The scoreline was by no means reflective of Saints' dominance on the day, but a succession of chances were wasted, prompting Butterfield to ask for an increase in desire in front of goal.

With tomorrow's Aston Villa fixture the final Staplewood game of the season, he is hoping Saints can finish with a flourish.

"Villa are a well organised, hard working team with a threat up top. The thing for us is that the lads get an opportunity to put right what we didn't do midweek against Arsenal," Butterfield said.

"Performance wise, it was one of the best we've produced this season [against Arsenal], but we weren't clinical in front of goal. Just converting one or two of those opportunities gives you a good chance to win the game.

"We need more of that, an appetite in front of goal. We created a lot, but didn't convert anything. We want to put right the disappointment from Wednesday.

"Three games in a week is tough on the legs, but something the players need to prepare for if they want successful pro careers. One or two changes to our side no doubt, but we're focussed as ever and ready to compete."
