Southampton Under-23s coach Radhi Jaïdi was pleased with his side after they earned a point in their 1-1 draw with Brighton & Hove Albion in Premier League 2.
Armani Little headed home in response to Steven Alzate’s first-half strike for the hosts to earn a share of the spoils.
And Jaïdi felt that was something his side were worthy of, after standing up to strong opposition that boasted Premier League experience.
“It’s a massive point. It’s really important and it wasn’t easy for our boys tonight because they played against some senior players so credit to them for standing up to that challenge,” Jaïdi reflected.
“I think the reaction was positive in the second-half. We tried to play our football in some patches throughout the game.
“The start of the second-half was a bit difficult to find our distances and shape but as soon we figured that out we started to impose our game.
“We created some half chances and could have done better in the final third but the second-half was more like us.
“I’m pleased with a point but hopefully in the next game we can get all three.”
