Steven Davis captained Northern Ireland to a crucial 2-0 victory over Czech Republic in their recent World Cup qualifier.

Jonny Evans headed in Oliver Norwood's cross just before the half-hour mark to put Northern Ireland ahead at Windsor Park.

Chris Brunt then made it two on 41 minutes when he bent a superb left-footed free-kick in past Tomáš Vaclík in the Czech goal.

A sturdy second-half performance then saw Northern Ireland hold onto their lead and secure all three points.

The win guarantees them a second-place finish in Group C of the World Cup qualifiers.
