Claude Puel says Southampton must show their character, as they look to bounce back from a run of three consecutive defeats.
Saints were beaten 3-0 at Everton on Monday, in their first match of 2017, following on from home losses against Tottenham and West Bromwich Albion.
Attention now turns away from the league, with Puel’s side travelling to Norwich City in the third round of the FA Cup on Saturday, before the first leg of their EFL Cup semi-final with Liverpool the following Wednesday.
"It's important to continue with good spirit and prepare for a good answer from all the squad,” said Puel.
"Now it's important to continue with this character, spirit and come back with good intentions for the next games.
"It's always important for us, the cup games, and of course the other games in the Premier League. It's important to prepare for this, to recover in our bodies and in our heads, because it has been a difficult moment, and it's important now to have other games with a little more luck.”
