Dušan Tadić says Southampton will need to be wary of a fast start from Everton on Monday afternoon.
Saints did exactly that against the Toffees when the two sides met at St Mary’s in November, with Charlie Austin scoring inside the first minute.
That goal was enough for victory, but Tadić has warned that former manager Ronald Koeman and his Everton side will be looking for revenge on Monday.
“Every game is important, and with this game coming so quickly we need to be ready,” Tadić said.
“That game they didn’t play so good, so they will now try to show us that they are a better team than that day and than us.
“For sure they will start fast and we need to make sure we are ready for that.
“We need to show a strong mentality and we need to take three points.
“We know that we need to show better football because our fans deserve that.”
