Claude Puel says it is vital Southampton learn the lessons from their defeat at Crystal Palace and produce a reaction against Hapoel Be'er Sheva on Thursday.
Saints host the Israeli team in a winner-takes-all clash at St Mary's, with whoever comes out on top advancing to the knockout stages of the UEFA Europa League.
Puel's men will not head into the game on the back of the result they were hoping to get, as they followed up their victories over Everton and Arsenal with a disappointing display at Selhurst Park, where they were beaten 3-0.
"It's important to correct all that is possible, to analyse the game, to recover and to prepare in good condition with good attention for Thursday's game, which is an important game," said Puel.
"For now, it is a good lesson for us, like against Hull City and this is important for the future to correct this.
"We won 2-0 at Arsenal and played a strong game. Perhaps we lacked concentration for this game, but it's not an excuse. It was a bad game and it's important to correct this and have a good reaction."
