Ronald Koeman has underlined the importance of tomorrow’s match against Sunderland in the club’s chase for a European place.
A six-game unbeaten run propelled Saints back into the fight for qualification, but defeats in their last two matches has hurt that momentum.
But Koeman believes the side will be back on track if they can overcome the Black Cats at St Mary’s.
"[We said before Chelsea] it's now five to play until the next international break,” Koeman told Southampton’s official YouTube channel.
“Ok, we lost the first two and now it's time to win the game. We like to fight until the end about European football and that starts this Saturday about three points.”
Koeman added: “We know a lot about good runs, we know a lot about bad runs in results and, what I said, it's time to change now after the two defeats. We have to take it, we have to learn from it and do it better.”
