Southampton goalkeeper Adam Parkes has been named in the England Under-17s squad for upcoming fixtures in March.
Parkes, who has been a regular for Saints’ Under-16s this season, as well as being named on the bench for the Under-18s on a number of occasions, has been included in Steve Cooper’s squad for the second time in a row.
The goalkeeper, who featured for his country at the Algarve Tournament earlier this year, has now been called up for the UEFA European Under-17 Championship Elite Round.
England’s youngsters begin with a game against their Turkey counterparts as Chesterfield’s Proact Stadium on Thursday 24th March, with a kick-off time of 7pm GMT.
Two days later they take on Finland at Harrison Park Stadium, the home of Leek Town FC, with the game getting under way at 3pm GMT.
Steve Cooper’s side then takes on Ukraine at Burton Albion’s Pirelli Stadium on Tuesday 29th March, with kick-off at 7pm BST.
The winners of Group 2 will qualify automatically for this summer’s UEFA European Under-17 Championship, while the best seven runners-up from the eight Elite Round groups will also be at the tournament in Azerbaijan.
Tickets for all three England games are just £3 for adults and £1.50 for concessions.
