Youngsters enjoy Veho Academy experience

Budding young footballers were treated to an Academy experience with Southampton thanks to main club sponsors Veho.

Four Under-9s boys teams – Sholing Youth FC, Queenskeep FC, Littleton FC, and Hedge End Eagles FC – were given the experience of a lifetime as they trained on the same pitches as the Saints first team.

The teams, which were selected thanks to their partnerships with Veho, the Saints Foundation and as social media competition winners, gathered at Staplewood Campus to be put through their paces by Saints coaches.

It was an opportunity for the youngsters to learn and develop thanks to a structured Academy training session before putting their new skills to test in a round robin tournament.

The experience was completed when each player received a goody bag from Veho, which included a speaker, headphones, memory stick, a medal and a Saints first team poster.

Veho CEO and Founder Steven Lewis said: “Southampton Football Club is renowned for growing talent in its Academy and we wanted to take the opportunity to tap into the youth football strategy to give these teams an experience of a lifetime.

“It was another fantastic opportunity for us at Veho to use our partnership to engage with the local community and treat young supporters to an exclusive experience.”
