Report: Walcott scores in Wolves draw
Theo Walcott scored his first goal since completing his fairytale return to Southampton, as Saints extended their unbeaten run to seven Premier League games with a valuable point at Molineux. Read more here.
FULL-TIME: Wolves 1-1 Saints
It finishes all square at Molineux. Both teams went at it in the end, with Wolves saving their best for the second period. Saints are now seven unbeaten.
Running the clock down ⏰
Saints look happy to settle for a point here. Although Ward-Prowse has just delivered a corner centrally, looking to find any taker in a white shirt. It was beaten away at the front post.
Five minutes of normal time remaining...
Can there be a winner? Perfectly poised, could go either way here.
Series of blocks from Saints
Walker-Peters took one chance too many, losing the ball in his own half, and leaving Saints short at the back. McCarthy forced into another save, before Podence wins a corner. Saints clear.
A moment to savour for Theo
❤️
Neto pounces on a rebound
Jimenez strike crashes off the post, allowing a fairly easy finish for the substitute, drawing his side level.
GOAL
Pedro Lomba Neto (75’) | 1 – 1

Wolves influence growing
Traorè wins a foul near the corner flag. Ball whipped into the area and eventually falls to Kilman who fires over. The hosts have moved up a gear and are exerting pressure.
Neto impact
Walker-Peters did well to recover and block the shot, but Neto was found in plenty of space in Saints' technical area. He got the effort away but Saints had bodies on the line.
Will Saints rue chances missed?
Walcott could have had the game all but wrapped up. The away side continue to threaten as Bertrand lifts a free-kick into the box but the height evaded even Vestergaard. Wolves playing on the break.
Exquisite from Adams...
Adams puts it on a plate for Walcott, who has all the time in the world to pick his spot but fires wide of the upright. Kilman played him onside, but he couldn't make Wolves pay further.
😁
Leading as the game creeps over the hour mark.
DEADLOCK BROKEN
Adams keeps the ball alive and fizzes it across the face of goal where the gleeful looking Theo Walcott taps into an empty net.
GOOOAL!!!
Theo Walcott (59’) | 0 – 1
Staying patient
Both sides cancelling each other out once again in the early part of the half. Saints have a few attacking options on the bench should they want to change it up; Obafemi, Tella, Long, N'Lundulu.
McCarthy busy
The Saints stopper shows his resolve yet again, before Jiminez gets the chance to head goalward, but McCarthy is able to watch that wide. Wolves looking vibrant.
We're up and running 😇
Wolves get the second period under way, Saints will need to be careful of the threat of their hosts, who have a tendency to leave their scoring until later in the game.

HALF-TIME: Wolves 0-0 Saints
Stalemate at the break. Nothing separating the sides at the halfway point and not a huge amount to report. A tactical battle is on the cards in the second period, no doubt!
Yellow Card for Adama Traoré (Wolverhampton Wanderers)
Late on Djenepo.
Yellow Card for Rúben Diogo da Silva Neves (Wolverhampton Wanderers)
Late on Romeu.
Solid 🧱
Looking strong at the back, in partnership with Bednarek. Neither side proving easy to break down.
Showing his class 👏
McCarthy being tested on a few occasions, but he's been more than up to the task. Saints continue to dominate possession, but haven't had as many sights of goal as their hosts.
Traorè wins a foul
Vestergaard is the perpetrator, although he looked to have won the ball. Podence with a glancing header from the free-kick, which McCarthy is forced to save.
Adams links with Armstrong
He was on the stretch, but perhaps should have done better, having been well found by Adams operating in a No,10-like position. The shot finishes a whisker wide of the post.
McCarthy in control
Romeu got his pocket picked by Traorè, who tried a shot from distance. Again McCarthy saves rather comfortably.
Adams attempts the spectacular
Overhead kick didn't really end up where the striker intended, but is a sign of his growing confidence. Armstrong works the ball well in the following exchanges, allowing Djenepo free reign down the left, and the cross was good, but nothing to aim at centrally.
Adams leads the charge
Adams looking in the mood, carrying the ball well but eventually tackled by Kilman. At the opposite end, Boly heads way over. Nothing to trouble McCarthy.
Prowsey angles the free-kick
Saints' set-piece specialist curls a lovely free-kick towards Vestergaard who wins the header, diverting the ball back across goal, but no takers in white. There were a few shouts for handball as Semedo tried to control the ball and clear, nothing doing.
Searching for an opener 👀
Walcott is first to test the Wolves stopper. Encouraging opening from Saints.
Saints go close
Really clever by Armstrong, who cuts through the Wolves backline to find Walcott, as he reverses the shot but it's saved by Patricio. Really incisive move from the visitors who continue to look dangerous in the final third.
Djenepo in action 📸
Moussa Djenepo in action at Molineux.
Romeu catches Podence
Neves lines up the free-kick, but it's Moutinho who hits it and finds the wall. Semedo had a go on the follow up, but McCarthy is equal to it before denying Dendocker who looked nailed on to score the rebound. Superb goalkeeping 👏
Succession of corners cleared
Saints looking for an early breakthrough; a couple of half chances wasted. The visitors unsettling the hosts nonetheless, who are trying a new shape in the absence of Conor Coady.
Adams with an early chance
Lovely delivery from Bertrand down the left, which finds its way towards Adams, but caught the in-form forward rather by surprise before the chance is gone. Saints applying some early pressure.
Plenty of incentive...
Saints could finish in the top three with a win this evening. Looking to get back amongst the elite. COYR 👊

❤️ THEO ❤️
Theo Walcott made his senior club debut as a 16-year-old against Wolves back in August 2005. He’s waiting for his first Saints goal since November 2005 (vs Luton), but has assisted two goals in his three Premier League games since returning to the club.

Hasenhüttl confident ahead of Wolves trip
Hear from the boss as Saints travel to Molineux in a buoyant mood, having won five of their previous six ties.
16.44MATCHDAY 🤍❤️
Saints travel to Wolves tonight looking for the win which would keep the club in the top four of the Premier League standings. The continued absence of Danny Ings is a blow for Ralph Hasenhüttl's side's chances, but encouragingly goals are beginning to free-flow from other areas of the pitch. Wolves enter the tie off the back of a 1-0 defeat at Leicester, leaving Nuno's side in ninth position.
