FULL TIME: Saints 3-2 Burnley
What an afternoon at St Mary's as Southampton come out 3-2 victors over Burnley, with goals from Stuart Armstrong, Danny Ings and Nathan Redmond. That was a huge win for Saints who now move 10 points clear of Fulham. Happy Easter Sunday, Saints fans.
Close from Adams
Redmond releases Adams in mountains of space on the counter, but Adams' shot goes wide.
3 additional minutes
Saints have 3 minutes left to hold on to victory here at St Mary's. What have Burnley got left in the tank?
Free-kick for Burnley
Diallo goes in for a challenge on Brownhill and Burnley win the free kick. Westwood loops it in but the threat is cleared. Saints can breathe again, but for how long?
VITAL SAVE FROM FORSTER
Burnley were inches away from getting the equaliser then but Wood's head meets Fraser Forster who somehow manages to make a vital clearance for Saints. A huge 10 minutes ahead.
Nice save from Fraser Forster
Burnley continue to press as Wood hits the counter, his shot curls towards the top corner but Fraser Forster tips the ball behind for a corner.
Burnley searching for an equaliser
The away side have found themselves down for the first time this match and their charge towards goal has resumed. A couple of corners for the men in yellow but they ultimately amount to nothing.
Redderz 💯
Good to see the international break didn't halt Nathan Redmond's ever improving form ...
REDMOND'S RESURGENCE CONTINUES 🔋
That's the one we've been waiting for and Saints have pulled it all the way back at St Mary's. It felt as though the goal had been coming for a little while and it was Nathan Redmond who found the back of the net to launch Southampton into the lead for the first time this afternoon.
GOOOAL!!!
Nathan Redmond (65’) | 3 – 2
Saints eager for the winner
Saints have really picked up the pace in the last few minutes. Twice, the ball has found it's way into the safe hands of Nick Pope. First through Armstrong's strike straight down the centre of goal, then Redmond's.
Excellent save from Pope
Superb reflexes from the Burnley goal keeper, who manages to push Armstrong's deflected shot behind for another Saints corner.
OFF THE CROSSBAR
So, so close for James Ward-Prowse and Southampton. Some nice play to move the Saints forward, the captain gets his shot off on goal but it bounces off the crossbar, Ings is there on the rebound but the momentum is lost as the ball heads behind for a corner.
Pause in momentum
The game takes a slight pause as Jan Bednarek goes down. The defender receives treatment and is OK to continue.
No signs of slowing down
It seems the break hasn't had an impact on the pace of the game. No real chance on goal as of yet but both teams have come out fighting and in search of the winner in the second half.
Back underway
And just like that the players are back out for the second half.
ICE COLD INGSY 🥶
HALF TIME: Saints 2-2 Burnley
What a first half at St Mary's. Saints were 2-0 down after 28 minutes and it was looking like another disappointing afternoon for Ralph Hasenhüttl, but goals from Stuart Armstrong and Danny Ings have catapulted Saints back into contention.
VAR Decision: Penalty not awarded for Southampton [] was confirmed
SO CLOSE 🤯
What a match this is turning out to be. Saints charge forward once more and this time it's Diallo who gets his shot off on goal. It goes behind for another Southampton corner.
4 added minutes
The fourth official has indicated an additional four minutes to be played at the end of the first-half.
High intensity
Since Armstrong netted Saints' first goal there's been no slowing down from the Saints starting XI. Walker-Peters has put a total shift in down the right flank this afternoon and Southampton are looking dangerous at every attack. Can they pull this all the way back?

INGS DRAWS US LEVEL
Saints have been pushing for that equaliser for a while now and it's Danny Ings who finally gets his shot in the back of the net. From 2-0 down to 2-2, what a first-half we've had so far at St Mary's.
GOOOAL!!!
Danny Ings (41’) | 2 – 2
Much better from Saints
Kyle Walker-Peters intercepts the ball in Burnley's half, he tries to release the ball but it's deflected and goes behind for the corner.
Armstrong pulls one back
That's more like it from Saints. Beautiful reverse ball from Danny Ings and it's Stuart Armstrong that strikes the ball low and into the back of the net. Southampton are back into this Easter Sunday clash.
GOOOAL!!!
Stuart Armstrong (31’) | 1 – 2
Vydra doubles Burnley lead
Mee loops in a long ball to Wood who has no issue in setting up Vydra. He slams the shot into the back of the net. Good strike.
GOAL
Matej Vydra (27’) | 0 – 2

VAR Decision: Penalty not awarded for Southampton [Jan Bednarek] was cancelled
A Saints corner results in Bednarek hitting the ground, it goes to VAR but the penalty is not awarded.
Saints searching for an equaliser
Kyle Walker-Peters crosses in a lovely ball to Theo Walcott in the penalty area but he doesn't quite get the ball away. Burnley clear but only as far as Redmond, who has his own shot on goal but it rebounds straight off the Burnley defence.
GOAL
Chris Wood (11’) | 0 – 1

VAR Decision: Penalty awarded for Burnley [Erik Pieters] was confirmed
Worry for the Clarets
Pieters is down in the penalty area for Burnley after a challenge from Kyle Walker-Peters. VAR is taking a look...
Burnley starting strong
Burnley have attacked the first few minutes of this fixture hard and are looking immensely dangerous on the attack. They pick up a free kick in a promising position but McNeil's shot is cleared by the Saints defence.
Better from Saints
Danny Ings charges forward for Saints but his shot goes straight into a wall of Burnley bodies.
Fast start from Burnley
It didn't take long for Burnley to get in the swing of things as Wood advances towards goal and launches a shot low into the far corner. Fraser Forster knocks it behind for the corner.
