The Beginning

Diallo was born in Tours in 1999 and played for his hometown as well as Angoulême and Chambray-Lès-Tours until his big move to Ligue 1 giants Monaco in 2014.

He wasn't alone in his football journey as older brother Abdou Diallo, who now plays for Paris Saint-Germain, was also at the club when Ibrahima joined.

However, after making numerous appearances the B team, the midfielder didn't make an appearance for the first team but had made numerous appearances for France at under-age level.

Move to Brest

The midfielder joined Brest in August 2018 and started to showcase his talent. He impressed in over 20 appearances for The Pirates in Ligue 2 and helped the club to promotion back to the top tier and subsequently made his move permanent.

Carrying on his development in Ligue 1 in 2019/20, the European scouts began to notice the youngster as his attributes continued to flourish.

Offering an all-action midfield presence, the France Under-21 international operated in a box-to-box roll for Brest, catching the eye with his ability both in and out of possession.

With a solid range of passing and ability to dribble with the ball, his potential suitors ranged from Ligue 1 clubs to several Premier League outfits.

Becoming a Saint

Just a little over two years since his senior debut, Diallo joined Saints on 4 October 2020 signing a four year deal for an undisclosed fee.

He became the third summer signing of the transfer window alongside Kyle Walker-Peters and Mohammed Salisu.
